Sommige groepen zijn al bijna vol, bij andere gaat het minder vlot, hoewel we er vertrouwen in hebben dat er voldoende exemplaren in Nederland te vinden zijn. Voor de groep Alfa's (ter ere van het 100-jarige bestaan) zoeken we een mooie Spider, een GTA en een of meer fraaie Giulia's. Hebt u een TZ1 in de garage? Dat mag natuurlijk ook. We willen Italië niet alleen door Alfa Romeo vertegenwoordigd laten zijn, maar ook door de andere merken. Dus heb je een mooie, klassieke Lancia, Fiat of Maserati, wees dan niet te bescheiden, maar meld je aan. Fulvia's, 124's, Aurelia's, 128's, het is allemaal welkom. We zouden heel graag een mooie Miura begroeten, of een Bizzarrini, en we weten dat die zeker in Nederland zijn. Voor de groep Duitse sporters zoeken we nog aanvullingen in de vorm van een Kadett GT/E, VW Golf GTI MkI, een Escort RS2000 of Mexico, een vroege viercilinder M3 en een NSU TT of TTS. Dat zijn slechts voorbeelden, heb je een coupé, sedan of cabriolet van Duitse makelei en met een sportieve inborst, verras ons dan met een aanmelding. 1955 Buick Special Survivor Car Here is one car that has not been seen at the cruises for a while. This 1955 Buck Special has original paint, and tires from the '60's on it (Canadian Tire Super Lastic Twinply Toughies), and an original spare that saw very minimal use. The mileage on the car is under 60000. It was purchased from the original owner who got a company car in 1964, and decided to put this car away in storage. The current owner purchased the car in 2000. So the car had been in underground storage for 36 years! The brakes are new, master cylinder too as a car in storage for this long would need major brake work to make it safe, the carburetor, radiator, in fact, any normal service items were refurbished/replaced. It is too bad this real Canadian classic is parting ways with the original owner, but he is being very discerning as to who will have this old car to keep a piece of automotive history alive and in dignified condition. Again, my regrets for the intrusion of the wind noise, today was not the most spectacular day to make movies with the camera I own. It works OK on the video part, but sound is very sensitive on it. Keynote Speaker: Steve Ritchie - Presented by SPEAK Inc. teve Ritchie was born in Reidsville, North Carolina, where he was an early football and academic standout. Despite broken legs in the eighth and ninth grades, (and after being told by a bone specialist that he would never play football again), he played 7 more years and was a star quarterback in high school. Gaining admission to the US Air Force Academy, he continued in athletics. Beginning as a "walk on" in 1960, he became a starting halfback for the Falcons in 1962 and 1963, with his final game in the 1963 Gator Bowl. Graduating from the Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1964, Ritchie entered pilot training at Laredo Air Force Base, Texas, and finished number one in his class. (AFAA President Frank Gailer was Wing Director of Operations at the time and gave Ritchie two check rides. Asked by one of his instructors how the young pilot trainee had done, Gailer replied, "I learned a lot.") His first operational assignment was with Flight Test Operations at Eglin AFB, Florida, where he flew the F-104 Starfighter. Two years later he transitioned into the F-4 Phantom II at Homestead AFB, Fl in preparation for his first tour in Southeast Asia. Assigned to the 480th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Danang Air Base, South Vietnam in 1968, Ritchie flew the first "Fast FAC" mission in the F-4 forward air controller program and was instrumental in the spread and success of the program. 67 riviera engine video 072910.MOV 1967 Buick Riviera The 1967 Buick Riviera was the second year for the new body style which was longer and heavier than the previous model. The Riviera was still described as a 2-door sport coupe even though it was more of a personal luxury vehicle. With the exception of a new grill, tail lamps and slightly altered rocker moldings, the Buick Riviera remained much the same for 1967. The excitement came with the introduction of the new 430 V8 with 360hp that was now the highest rated standard engine of any muscle car. The new engine was reported to be much smoother, quieter and breathed better. Sales remained steady with 42799 models produced. This Riviera is completely numbers matching, has only 65085 miles and was repainted in its original color of Riviera Turquoise Iridium a few years back. The paint shows incredibly well and the interior had has held up well but could benefit from new front seat covers and a new carpet kit. The original Aqua interior is equipped with cold A/C, a remote driver mirror, rear window defrost, a Sonomatic AM radio, tilt steering, power seats and an aftermarket cruise control. You will also notice this is a bucket seat car with a center console and a console shifter for the automatic transmission. With the exception of the clock, the radio, the power antenna and the hide-away headlamps everything on this car is working properly.
